Match your suppressor to the correct firearm, caliber, barrel thread, muzzle device, adapter, and mounting system. This guide is being built as a comprehensive reference for suppressor owners, first-time buyers, and shooters setting up multiple hosts.
Start With the Basics
How Suppressor Mounting Works
A suppressor setup is a system. Before selecting an adapter or muzzle device, you need to identify four things: the firearm, the barrel, the mounting interface, and the suppressor.
Firearm & Caliber
Start with the host firearm, caliber, action type, and barrel length. A 9mm handgun and a 9mm PCC may use completely different mounting methods even though they fire the same cartridge.
Barrel Thread
Identify the actual barrel thread such as 1/2x28, 5/8x24, M13.5x1 LH, or another thread pattern. Thread pitch alone does not establish caliber compatibility.
Mounting System
Determine whether the setup will use direct thread, piston and booster, 3-lug, KeyMo, Xeno, Plan B, Griffin Plan A, B&T Rotex, or another mounting ecosystem.
Suppressor Interface
Finally, confirm which rear interface the suppressor accepts. Examples include HUB, Dead Air P-Series, proprietary mounting systems, and manufacturer-specific adapters.

Compatibility Requires More Than Matching Threads
Always verify the cartridge, bore diameter, barrel thread, barrel length, suppressor rating, suppressor-side adapter, and barrel-mounted muzzle device before firing. Two accessories can share the same thread pitch and still be incompatible because of bore diameter or mounting-system differences.
Before Choosing a Mount
Fixed Barrel vs. Moving Barrel
One of the first questions to answer is whether the barrel remains stationary during firing or moves as part of the firearm's operating cycle. This can completely change the mounting components required between the firearm and suppressor.
Moving / Recoil-Operated Barrel
Common on semiautomatic handguns
Most modern semiautomatic pistols use a barrel that moves during the firing cycle. Browning-style tilting-barrel pistols are the most common example.
Adding the weight of a suppressor directly to this type of barrel can interfere with normal cycling. These applications commonly use a booster, Nielsen device, piston, and spring designed for the suppressor.
Fixed Barrel
Common on PCCs, rifles, and many rimfire firearms
A fixed barrel does not need a spring-loaded booster to compensate for barrel movement. Common examples include many 9mm PCCs, MP5-pattern firearms, AR-platform rifles, bolt-action rifles, lever guns, and many rimfire firearms.
Depending on the suppressor, a fixed-barrel host may use direct thread, 3-lug, a fixed mount, a fixed-barrel spacer, or a rifle-style quick-detach mounting system.
Don't Decide Based on Caliber Alone
A 9mm handgun and a 9mm PCC can use the same ammunition while requiring completely different mounting hardware. The firearm's operating system matters just as much as the caliber and barrel thread.

Suppressor Caliber Compatibility Guide
The bullet fitting through the bore is only the first requirement. A suppressor must also be rated for the cartridge's pressure and muzzle energy, the firearm's barrel length and firing schedule, and the mounting system being used. Use this section to identify the suppressor class you should be looking at before choosing a specific model or mount.
Technical data verified August 2026. Manufacturer examples below use current Dead Air and B&T information already covered in this guide. This is a selection guide, not permission to fire an unlisted cartridge. The suppressor manufacturer's current rating always controls.
Bore Size Comes First
The projectile must have adequate clearance through the suppressor, muzzle device and front cap. A smaller projectile can sometimes be fired through a larger-bore suppressor when the manufacturer rates that suppressor for the cartridge.
Pressure Still Matters
A 9mm suppressor may physically clear a .300 Blackout bullet, but that does not automatically make it safe for .300 Blackout. Construction, muzzle energy and the manufacturer's cartridge rating still control.
Host Configuration Matters
Barrel length, action type, rate of fire and mounting method can change the approved configuration. Always verify the complete host rather than choosing a suppressor from caliber name alone.

Can a Larger-Bore Suppressor Be Used on a Smaller Cartridge?
Often yes — but only when the manufacturer rates the suppressor for that cartridge and host. The larger bore gives projectile clearance; it does not automatically provide adequate pressure or heat capacity.
Rimfire / Small Bore
.22 LR, .22 WMR, .17 HMR & 5.7x28
What to Look For
For ordinary .22 LR, use a dedicated rimfire suppressor whenever possible. Rimfire ammunition deposits substantial fouling, so user-serviceability can be important.
Do not assume every .22 LR suppressor is rated for .22 Magnum, .17 HMR or 5.7x28.
Current Dead Air Examples
Dead Air's Mask and RXD22Ti are current rimfire options. Dead Air's fitment materials list the RXD22Ti through 5.7x28 with platform/ammunition caveats.
Texas Guns Tip
If the customer mentions 5.7x28, stop treating the request as an ordinary .22 LR sale and verify the exact suppressor's 5.7 rating.
Pistol / PCC
9mm
Handgun
Most Browning-style semiautomatic pistols need a booster and piston matched to the barrel thread. Do not use the spring-loaded booster configuration on a fixed-barrel PCC.
PCC / Subgun
Fixed-barrel 9mm hosts commonly use 3-lug, direct thread, KeyMicro, Plan B or another fixed-barrel QD system.

Ask “handgun or PCC?” before asking which 9mm suppressor the customer wants. That one answer usually determines the mounting path.
Large-Bore Pistol
.45 ACP
Why .45 Is Different
A 9mm suppressor cannot be used with .45 ACP. Use a .45-class suppressor and the correct booster/piston or fixed-barrel hardware.
Multi-Caliber Possibility
Many .45-class suppressors can also be used with smaller pistol calibers when the manufacturer approves the cartridge and the correct mounting hardware is installed.

5.56 NATO / .223 Remington
Dedicated 5.56 vs .30-Cal
A dedicated 5.56 suppressor can offer a smaller bore and purpose-built performance. A manufacturer-rated .30-cal suppressor can add versatility across 5.56 and larger .30-cal hosts.
Short-Barrel Use
Short 5.56 barrels create extreme pressure, heat and blast. Verify barrel restrictions and firing-schedule limitations before treating a suppressor as an SBR can.

For a hard-use short 5.56 rifle, prioritize a suppressor specifically engineered for rifle pressure and the customer's gas/backpressure goals rather than choosing solely by sound reduction.
Small-Bore Rifle
6mm ARC
Do Not Treat 6mm ARC as 5.56
The projectile is larger than 5.56. A 5.56-bore suppressor or front cap may not provide adequate clearance. Use a suppressor explicitly rated for 6mm ARC or a larger compatible bore.
Dead Air Example
Dead Air's Lazarus 6 is a 6mm-bore rifle suppressor and the current fitment guide identifies 6mm ARC among its intended applications.
Subsonic / Supersonic Rifle
.300 Blackout
Subsonic
.300 BLK subsonic is one of the most suppressor-friendly centerfire applications because the projectile avoids the supersonic crack. Many multi-caliber cans are optimized around it.
Supersonic
Supersonic .300 BLK produces substantially greater muzzle energy. A can rated only for subsonic .300 BLK must not be assumed safe with supersonic ammunition.

AR / Bolt Host
On a conventional concentric threaded barrel, 7.62x39 generally follows normal .30-cal rifle suppressor selection and mounting rules.
AK Host
AK-pattern firearms deserve an alignment check because thread concentricity can vary. Dead Air's Wolverine exists specifically to address common AK mounting challenges.

For an AK, identify the exact muzzle thread and check alignment before ordering the suppressor mount. “7.62x39” alone does not tell us which AK adapter the customer needs.
Full-Power Rifle
.308 Win / 7.62 NATO & 6.5 Creedmoor
.308 / 7.62 NATO
Use a full-power rifle suppressor rated for .308-class pressure and the intended host. Bolt guns can favor lighter direct-thread systems; semiautomatics may benefit from a QD and lower-backpressure design.
6.5 Creedmoor
A .30-cal suppressor can commonly be used on 6.5 Creedmoor when rated by the manufacturer. A caliber-specific 6.5 front cap can sometimes improve suppression, but it must be changed before firing larger .30-cal projectiles.

.38 Special / .357 Magnum
.38 Special
Subsonic .38 Special from a threaded lever rifle can be an excellent suppressor host when the suppressor is rated for the cartridge and fixed-barrel application.
.357 Magnum
Do not equate .357 Magnum with 9mm simply because projectile diameter is similar. Magnum pressure and muzzle energy require an explicit .357 Magnum rating.

Large-Bore Lever Gun
.44 Magnum
Choose for Pressure, Not Just Diameter
.44 Magnum needs a suppressor with sufficient bore and an explicit pressure/barrel-length rating. A .45 pistol suppressor is not automatically a .44 Magnum lever-gun suppressor.
Dead Air Example
Dead Air's Mojave 45 fitment material allows .44 Magnum lever-action use with a 16-inch barrel. The Primal is another large-bore rifle-oriented option.
Large Bore / High Energy
8.6 Blackout & .338-Class
8.6 Blackout
8.6 BLK uses a .338-class projectile but can be optimized around relatively short barrels and subsonic ammunition. Use a suppressor specifically rated for 8.6 BLK.
.338 Magnum
.338 Lapua and similar magnum cartridges are a different energy class. A suppressor rated for 8.6 BLK is not automatically rated for .338 Lapua Magnum.

Bore Clearance Is the First Check
These cartridges require a true large-bore suppressor and a muzzle device with sufficient internal diameter. A .30-cal or 9mm muzzle device cannot be used merely because its barrel thread happens to match.
Thread Pitch Varies
.45-70 lever rifles and .458-class ARs can use several barrel thread standards. We will cover the common thread pitches in the Barrel Thread Guide next.

Caliber Compatibility Is a Manufacturer Rating — Not a Guess
Never approve a cartridge simply because the projectile physically fits through the suppressor. Confirm the exact suppressor model, cartridge, ammunition type where relevant, barrel length, firing schedule and mounting hardware in the current manufacturer documentation.
Barrel-Side Fitment
Suppressor Barrel Thread & Muzzle-Device Guide
Barrel thread identifies how a mount attaches to the firearm. It does not identify the caliber, bore diameter, suppressor mounting ecosystem, or whether the barrel shoulder is appropriate for that device. Match the thread first — then verify every other fitment dimension.
Technical data verified August 2026. Thread examples below use current manufacturer documentation and the Dead Air fitment data already referenced throughout this guide. Firearm manufacturers can use different thread pitches on different generations, barrel lengths, calibers and markets. Verify the actual barrel before ordering.
Rule #1
Thread Pitch ≠ Caliber
The same barrel thread can be used with muzzle devices having completely different bores. A 1/2x28 device may be intended for 5.56, 6mm, .30-cal or 9mm depending on the product.
Rule #2
Shoulder / Indexing Matters
Suppressor mounts must seat against the surface they were designed to index from. Square-shoulder, taper-shoulder, face-mount and platform-specific arrangements are not automatically interchangeable.
Rule #3
Verify Alignment
The barrel thread, adapter and muzzle device must hold the suppressor concentric to the bore. AKs, thread adapters and unusual barrel shoulders deserve particular attention.
How to Read Barrel Thread Notation
1/2" = nominal major diameter of the threaded section.
28 = 28 threads per inch.
This notation does not tell you the projectile diameter or muzzle-device bore.
M13.5 = approximately 13.5 mm major thread diameter.
x1 = 1 mm thread pitch.
LH = left-hand thread direction.

Why 1/2x28 Causes Confusion
It is widely used on both small-bore rifles and 9mm firearms. A muzzle device can screw onto the barrel perfectly and still have an internal bore too small for the projectile.
Dead Air Makes the Point Clearly
DA301 is a .22-bore KeyMo flash hider, DA123 is a .30-bore Xeno Omni Brake, and DA109 is a 9mm-bore KeyMicro brake — all 1/2x28.
PCC / AR9
1/2x36
Where You'll See It
1/2x36 has historically been common on AR-pattern 9mm barrels and remains in use on some PCCs.
Dead Air Parts
Dead Air lists DA110 as a 1/2x36 9mm-bore KeyMicro brake and DA411 as a 1/2x36 P-Series fixed mount.
Common Centerfire Rifle Thread
5/8x24
Common Rifle Use
5/8x24 is one of the most common U.S. threads for .30-caliber centerfire rifles and is widely used on .300 Blackout, .308-class and 6.5 Creedmoor barrels.
But Bore Still Varies
Dead Air lists DA302 as a .30-bore 5/8x24 KeyMo flash hider, DA116 as a 9mm-bore 5/8x24 KeyMicro flash hider, and DA161 as a .458-bore 5/8x24 KeyMo 46 brake.
Large-Bore Pistol
.578x28
Typical Use
.578x28 is a common U.S. thread for threaded .45 ACP pistol barrels and is also used on some large-bore fixed-barrel applications.
Dead Air Examples
DA405 is a .45-bore P-Series piston, DA450 is a .45-bore P-Series fixed mount, and DA160 is a .458-bore KeyMo 46 muzzle brake — all in .578x28.
Specialty Rifle / Lever / FAL
9/16x24
Direction Matters
9/16x24 can appear in right-hand and left-hand forms. A 9/16x24 RH device will not fit a 9/16x24 LH barrel.
Dead Air Examples
Dead Air lists DA143 as a 9/16x24 RH 9mm-bore Xeno Xero, while DA307 and DA308 are KeyMo flash hiders for metric/inch FAL applications using opposite thread directions.
Metric Pistol Thread
M13.5x1 LH
Typical Use
Common on various European-style 9mm pistol barrels and some factory metric-thread handgun barrels.
Dead Air Examples
DA402 P-Series piston, DA414 P-Series fixed mount, DA117 KeyMicro flash hider and PB441 Mojave piston are M13.5x1 LH 9mm-bore examples.
AK / Eastern Bloc Threads
M14, M24, M26 & Other AK Patterns
There Is No Single “AK Thread”
AK-family firearms use multiple muzzle-thread patterns depending on country, caliber, model and front-sight / gas-block configuration.
Examples include M14x1 LH, 24 mm patterns, 26 mm patterns and other variants.
Why the Wolverine Exists
Dead Air's Wolverine uses replaceable thread inserts and collars for numerous AK-family threads rather than expecting one universal barrel adapter.
Dead Air also instructs users to check barrel concentricity on Wolverine configurations.
AK Rule: Identify the Exact Rifle Before Selling the Mount
Record the firearm model, caliber and actual muzzle thread, then verify alignment. Do not sell an adapter solely from “AK” or “7.62x39.”
Precision / Hunting Rifle
M18x1 & M18x1.5
M18x1
Used on various precision, hunting and specialty rifle barrels. Dead Air lists M18x1 in both HUB direct-thread and high-energy KeyMo/Xemax mounting families.
M18x1.5
A different pitch. Dead Air lists separate M18x1.5 components, including AI-specific HUB and high-energy muzzle-device options. Do not interchange them with M18x1.
Large Bore / Lever Gun
11/16x24, 5/8x32, 3/4x24 & Other Large-Bore Threads
Large-Bore Threads Vary
.45-70, .458-class rifles and large-bore hunting rifles are not all threaded alike. 11/16x24, 5/8x32, 5/8x24, 3/4x24 and other patterns can appear depending on barrel and manufacturer.
Dead Air Big-Bore Examples
Dead Air offers .458-bore KeyMo 46 and Xeno/Xemax devices across several of these thread pitches for Primal-class applications.
Never Use Thread Pitch as a Shortcut for Big-Bore Fitment
A 5/8x24 muzzle device can physically fit a .45-caliber barrel and still contain a .30-caliber bore. Always verify device bore before firing.
Shoulder Geometry
SIG Taper Barrels
Same Thread, Different Shoulder
A SIG taper barrel can use a familiar pitch such as 1/2x28 or 5/8x24 while using a tapered shoulder rather than a conventional square shoulder.
The muzzle device must be designed for that indexing geometry or use an approved conversion method.
Dead Air Examples
Dead Air separately catalogs SIG-taper-specific muzzle devices such as DA119 1/2x28 SIG Taper and DA120 5/8x24 SIG Taper. It also lists LT315 as a 5/8x24 SIG Taper HUB direct mount.
Thread Pitch Is Only Half the Barrel-Side Fitment
The muzzle device also needs a repeatable surface to index against. That surface helps determine whether the device seats square to the bore.
Don't Know Your Barrel Thread?

Final Thread Rule: Match Thread + Bore + Shoulder + Mounting System
Correct barrel thread is necessary, but it is not sufficient. Before firing, verify the thread pitch, muzzle-device bore, indexing surface, suppressor mounting ecosystem, cartridge rating and alignment of the complete system.

The same suppressor can require completely different hardware depending on whether it is being installed on a handgun, PCC, AR, bolt gun, lever gun or AK.

The Mojave 9 ships around a boosted handgun configuration. For an M13.5x1 LH 9mm barrel, use the appropriate metric piston instead of the 1/2x28 piston.

When the Wolfman is used on a handgun rather than a PCC
Dead Air specifically states that the Wolfman's fixed mount is not the correct configuration for a tilting-barrel handgun.

The Four Mounting Methods to Understand First
Manufacturers use many proprietary names, but understanding these four basic mounting methods makes the more advanced systems much easier to understand. Later in this guide we will cover KeyMo, KeyMicro, Xeno, Plan B, Griffin Plan A, B&T systems, HUB adapters, and other manufacturer-specific options.
Mounting Method
Direct Thread
Direct thread is the simplest suppressor mounting method. The suppressor or its direct-thread adapter screws directly onto the firearm's threaded barrel.
Common applications: bolt-action rifles, dedicated suppressed rifles, rimfire firearms, PCCs, and other fixed-barrel hosts.
Direct thread eliminates a separate barrel-mounted QD muzzle device, which can make the setup simple and compact.
Handgun Mounting
Piston & Booster
A booster, also called a Nielsen device or linear decoupler, allows the suppressor to temporarily move independently from the pistol barrel during the firing cycle.
The piston determines the barrel thread. For example, a suppressor may use one piston for a 1/2x28 barrel and another for M13.5x1 LH.
This setup is commonly used on Browning-style recoil-operated semiautomatic handguns.
Fixed Barrel Application
Fixed Barrel Spacer
Some pistol suppressor booster assemblies can also be used on fixed-barrel firearms by installing the suppressor manufacturer's compatible fixed-barrel spacer.
The spacer prevents the booster assembly from operating like the spring-loaded system used on a recoil-operated pistol.
Common applications: PCCs and other fixed-barrel hosts when the particular suppressor manufacturer supports this configuration.
PCC / Subgun Mounting
3-Lug
The 3-lug system is a fast attachment method commonly associated with MP5-pattern firearms and 9mm PCCs. Three locking lugs on the barrel or barrel adapter engage a spring-loaded suppressor-side 3-lug mount.
A firearm without factory 3-lug geometry can sometimes use a threaded barrel-side 3-lug adapter. The suppressor must then have the correct suppressor-side 3-lug mount.
Those are two different components, and both must be compatible with the firearm, caliber, and suppressor.
Barrel Side and Suppressor Side Are Two Different Questions
When choosing a mounting system, identify the component attached to the barrel and the component installed in the suppressor. A compatible barrel thread does not automatically mean the suppressor-side mount is compatible.
Common Suppressor Rear Interface
What Does HUB Mean?
HUB is the commonly used name for the 1.375x24 rear suppressor mounting interface, also frequently called Bravo. A HUB-compatible suppressor can accept a variety of suppressor-side adapters that use this same rear thread pattern.
Think of HUB as the Socket on the Suppressor
HUB describes the rear interface of the suppressor. It does not tell you what barrel thread you have, what caliber you are firing, or which muzzle device is installed on the firearm.
What HUB Tells You
The suppressor accepts a 1.375x24 rear mounting adapter when the suppressor manufacturer specifies that model as HUB compatible.
What HUB Does Not Tell You
HUB does not determine barrel thread, muzzle-device bore, cartridge rating, barrel-length restriction, or internal blast-chamber clearance.
Why HUB Matters
A HUB suppressor may allow the owner to select from multiple mounting ecosystems instead of being permanently tied to one manufacturer-specific attachment system.

HUB Compatible Does Not Mean Everything Fits Everything
The rear adapter may physically thread into a HUB suppressor while the complete system is still unsuitable. Always verify muzzle-device length, blast-chamber clearance, bore diameter, caliber rating, barrel length, firearm configuration, and manufacturer instructions before use.

Understanding the Major Mounting Systems
A mounting ecosystem normally has two sides: a muzzle device attached to the firearm and an adapter installed in the suppressor. The two components must use the same mounting interface even when the suppressor itself uses a common HUB rear thread.
Q / Aftermarket Ecosystem
Plan B
Plan B refers to the taper-mount system associated with Q and the Q Cherry Bomb. A suppressor-side Plan B adapter connects the suppressor to a compatible barrel-mounted muzzle device.
Barrel side: Q Cherry Bomb or another manufacturer-verified Plan B-pattern muzzle device.
Suppressor side: the Plan B adapter must match the suppressor's rear interface. HUB, Dead Air P-Series, Alpha, Charlie, and other suppressor interfaces require different adapters.

Griffin Armament's Plan A system allows compatible suppressors to use Griffin Taper Mount muzzle devices. The Plan A adapter installs in the suppressor while the corresponding Griffin Taper Mount device installs on the firearm.
Griffin offers a 1.375x24 HUB Plan A adapter for HUB-compatible suppressors as well as other Plan A adapters for specific suppressor interfaces.
Griffin also offers a dedicated Plan A adapter for certain Dead Air P-Series suppressors, including the Wolfman family.

KeyMo
KeyMo is Dead Air's quick-detach rifle mounting system. A KeyMo adapter installs in the suppressor and locks onto a compatible KeyMo or appropriately compatible KeyMicro muzzle device installed on the firearm.
The current Dead Air DA428 KeyMo Adapter uses the HUB rear interface and allows HUB-compatible suppressors to use the KeyMo mounting ecosystem.

KeyMicro
KeyMicro uses the same basic mounting technology as KeyMo in a more compact package designed around suppressors with smaller blast chambers and pistol-caliber applications.
Dead Air's DA451 is the P-Series KeyMicro adapter used with compatible suppressors such as the Wolfman and other supported P-Series models.
Some full-size KeyMo muzzle devices can interface with KeyMicro, but physical fit depends on the suppressor's blast-chamber depth.

Xeno
Xeno is Dead Air's threaded taper mounting system. The suppressor adapter engages a matching Xeno muzzle device using a tapered interface and left-hand attachment threads between the muzzle device and suppressor adapter.
Dead Air offers Xeno adapters for more than one suppressor rear interface. The DA455 is the HUB version, while the DA457 provides a P-Series Xeno interface for supported Dead Air suppressors.

The Adapter Determines the Mounting Ecosystem
A HUB suppressor does not become a Plan B, Plan A, KeyMo, or Xeno suppressor until the corresponding suppressor-side adapter is installed. Once that adapter is installed, the barrel-mounted muzzle device must match that same ecosystem.
Never Mix Mounting Systems Because the Parts Look Similar
Plan A, Plan B, Xeno, KeyMo, KeyMicro, 3-lug, and other mounting systems use different geometry and locking methods. Only combine components specifically identified as compatible by their manufacturers.
B&T Suppressor Mounting
Understanding B&T Mounting Systems
B&T uses several different suppressor mounting systems depending on the suppressor generation and firearm application. Current U.S. products include HUB-based rifle systems, 3-lug SMG suppressors, boosted handgun suppressors, and proprietary platform-specific suppressors. Older and military-oriented B&T literature also uses QDR, QDM, QDN, and DM mounting terminology.
Rifle / HUB
Current SRBS-family rifle suppressors use the standard HUB rear interface and can be configured with B&T's Rotex-SF HUB mount or other compatible HUB mounting solutions.
SMG / 3-Lug
B&T's current SMG-M and SQD-style 9mm suppressors are designed around in-spec 9mm 3-lug barrels commonly found on APC9, SPC9, GHM9, and MP5-pattern firearms.
Handgun / Impuls
B&T's Impuls handgun suppressors use a spring booster system for recoil-operated pistol barrels. The piston or Impuls device must match the handgun's barrel thread.
Platform Specific
Some B&T suppressors use proprietary attachment systems. The TP9 / MP9 suppressor is a major example and should not be confused with a standard MP5-pattern 9mm 3-lug mount.
Current B&T Rifle Mounting
Rotex-SF HUB
B&T's current SRBS-family suppressors are HUB compatible and commonly ship with B&T's Rotex-SF HUB assembly. This gives the suppressor a standard 1.375x24 rear interface while allowing the installed Rotex-SF mount to attach to supported rifle muzzle devices.
B&T states that the Rotex-SF HUB assembly is compatible with B&T Rotex flash hiders, WarComp hybrid muzzle devices, and SureFire SOCOM flash hiders and muzzle brakes.
Because the suppressor itself is HUB compatible, the Rotex-SF assembly can be removed and replaced with another appropriate 1.375x24 HUB mount when the suppressor manufacturer permits that configuration.
Important: Rotex-SF compatibility with specified SureFire SOCOM muzzle devices does not make B&T and SureFire suppressor bodies or locking mechanisms universally interchangeable. Treat the Rotex-SF HUB as its own suppressor-side mounting assembly.
SMG / PCC
SQD / RQD 3-Lug
B&T's 9mm SMG suppressor family uses rapid 3-lug attachment systems for firearms with an in-spec 9mm tri-lug barrel.
Common host examples include B&T APC9, SPC9, GHM9, and HK MP5-pattern firearms with standard in-spec 9mm tri-lug barrels.
B&T's newer SMG-M-9 is also HUB-interface compatible, allowing its included rapid 3-lug assembly to be exchanged for another appropriate 9mm HUB mounting solution.
Handgun
Impuls Booster System
The B&T Impuls system is intended for recoil-operated handgun barrels and incorporates a spring booster to allow the pistol to cycle with the suppressor installed.
Current 9mm Impuls models commonly ship with a 1/2x28 Impuls booster. B&T also lists M13.5x1 LH and other barrel-thread options as accessories for supported models.
The thread of the piston / Impuls device must match the actual handgun barrel thread.
Platform Specific
TP9 / MP9 QD
The TP9 / MP9 uses a proprietary B&T suppressor attachment geometry. The firearm's barrel shroud serves as a large tri-lug-style mounting interface for the dedicated TP9 / MP9 suppressor.
Do not assume a suppressor designed for a standard MP5-pattern 9mm 3-lug will fit the TP9 / MP9 interface.
Direct Mount / Dedicated Hosts
Direct Mount
B&T also produces suppressors and mounting configurations that attach directly to the firearm's barrel or are designed around a dedicated host.
B&T documentation commonly abbreviates this configuration as DM. Always verify the exact barrel thread and suppressor model before ordering.
B&T Rifle Mount Abbreviations You May Encounter
B&T's rifle-suppressor manuals use several mounting abbreviations. These are important when identifying older suppressors, military configurations, imported models, or replacement mounts.
I Have a SureFire SOCOM Muzzle Device
A current B&T SRBS equipped with the appropriate Rotex-SF HUB may be able to mount to compatible SureFire SOCOM flash hiders and muzzle brakes.
Verify the exact B&T suppressor, Rotex-SF mount, and muzzle device before purchase.
I Have an MP5 / APC9 / SPC9 / GHM9
For a standard in-spec 9mm tri-lug host, B&T's SQD / RQD 3-lug suppressor systems are the natural B&T mounting family to evaluate.
If the firearm also has exposed barrel threads, direct-thread or another compatible mounting system may be possible depending on the suppressor.
I Have a TP9
Stop and verify the suppressor before ordering. The TP9 / MP9 uses its own proprietary suppressor interface and is not the same as a normal MP5-style 9mm 3-lug host.
I Have a HUB B&T Suppressor
First identify the current adapter installed in the suppressor. A HUB B&T can may be configured with Rotex-SF or another compatible HUB mounting system, but the barrel-side muzzle device must match the adapter actually installed.
B&T Uses More Than One Type of 3-Lug
Do not use the phrase "B&T 3-lug" as though it identifies one universal interface. Standard 9mm PCC tri-lug systems and the proprietary TP9 / MP9 attachment are different applications. Verify the host firearm and suppressor model before selecting parts.
Major Suppressor Ecosystems
SilencerCo, Rugged, HUXWRX & SureFire Mounting Guide
These manufacturers approach suppressor mounting very differently. SilencerCo uses Alpha, Bravo/HUB and Charlie rear interfaces; Rugged combines proprietary Dual Taper Lock with HUB adapters; HUXWRX uses its left-hand QD system on FLOW rifle suppressors and HUB on VENTUM and newer modular products; SureFire SOCOM suppressors use the proprietary Fast-Attach system.

The Most Important Cross-Brand Rule
A suppressor may be compatible with another company's muzzle-device ecosystem only when a verified suppressor-side adapter creates that interface. For example, a HUB suppressor can use a Rugged R.U.M., HUXWRX HUB-QD, SilencerCo Bravo ASR or SureFire Fast-Attach HUB adapter when that suppressor and adapter combination is approved.

Alpha, Bravo / HUB & Charlie
SilencerCo separates the suppressor's rear mount size from the mounting method. ASR, direct thread, 3-lug and piston systems are available in different rear-interface families.
Alpha — Spectre / Pistol-Class
SilencerCo's current mount guide identifies Alpha as 1.125x28. It supports direct thread, 3-lug, pistons and Alpha ASR.
Current examples include the Spectre series and other pistol/PCC-oriented SilencerCo products.
Bravo — HUB 1.375x24
Bravo is the SilencerCo name for the rear thread the industry now commonly calls HUB.
Current Bravo examples include Omega 300, Hybrid 46 and Scythe-series rifle suppressors.
Charlie — 1.375x32
Charlie is a SilencerCo-specific hard-use rear interface using a tapered insert / retaining geometry rather than ordinary HUB.
Current examples include Velos LBP, Omega 36M, Hybrid 46M, Chimera 300 and Saker-family suppressors.
ASR — Muzzle Device + Locking Collar
ASR uses a compatible SilencerCo ASR flash hider or muzzle brake on the barrel and an Alpha, Bravo or Charlie ASR mount in the can.
ASR is the mounting type; Alpha / Bravo / Charlie are the suppressor-side mount sizes.

SilencerCo Naming Trap
Do not confuse Bravo/HUB 1.375x24 with Charlie 1.375x32. The diameters sound similar, but the thread pitches and mounting geometry are different.
Rugged Suppressors
Dual Taper Lock, R.U.M., RU3 & Obsidian Mounts
Rugged's rifle ecosystem centers on Dual Taper Lock. HUB suppressors can enter that ecosystem through the Rugged Universal Mount (R.U.M.), while the RU3 gives a HUB 9mm suppressor a direct HK-spec 3-lug interface.
Obsidian 9 / 45
The Obsidian family uses a booster and piston on moving-barrel handguns. Fixed barrels use a fixed barrel spacer, fixed mount, 3-lug or Obsidian Dual Taper mount as appropriate.
Rugged specifically warns against running the spring-loaded booster configuration on a fixed-barrel PCC.
R.U.M. — Rugged Universal Mount
The R.U.M. threads into a 1.375x24 HUB suppressor and allows that suppressor to use Rugged's Dual Taper muzzle devices.
Alaskan360 and newer Rugged HUB rifle suppressors use this modular rear architecture.
RU3 — HUB 3-Lug
Rugged's RU3 threads directly into a 1.375x24 HUB 9mm suppressor and locks onto an HK-spec 9mm 3-lug.
Rugged identifies Alaskan360 and Sub9 as examples of appropriate HUB 9mm suppressors.
Integral Dual Taper Rifle Cans
Traditional Rugged rifle suppressors such as Razor / Radiant-era Dual Taper models use Rugged's built-in rifle mounting system rather than a removable HUB rear socket.

Rugged 3-Lug Trap
The traditional Rugged 9mm 3-Lug Mount is for Obsidian-family suppressors. The RU3 is the direct HUB 1.375x24 3-lug mount. They solve a similar problem but install into different suppressor rear interfaces.
HUXWRX Safety Co.
FLOW QD, HUB-QD & VENTUM
HUXWRX uses a proprietary left-hand QD muzzle-device interface on FLOW rifle suppressors. VENTUM is HUB-compatible and can use several approved third-party HUB mounts. FLOW 9k Ti brings HUB modularity into the pistol / PCC side.
FLOW 556 / 556K / 762 Family
HUXWRX's FLOW rifle manual states that FLOW suppressors require a HUXWRX QD muzzle device.
The suppressor threads counter-clockwise onto the taper/QD muzzle device and uses HUXWRX's Torque Lock principle to stay seated.
VENTUM 556 / 762 — HUB
VENTUM is the flexible HUXWRX route for users who want traditional HUB mounting options.
HUXWRX's current manual specifically lists HUXWRX HUB-QD, Q Plan-B, SilencerCo ASR Bravo, Rugged R.U.M., Dead Air Xeno and Dead Air KeyMo as approved VENTUM HUB mounts.

The .30-cal / 7.62 SOCOM family follows the same Fast-Attach concept with the appropriate compatible SureFire muzzle device.
Always match the muzzle-device bore, thread and suppressor caliber family rather than assuming every SOCOM device is identical.
Fast-Attach HUB Adapter
SureFire's Fast-Attach HUB creates the SOCOM-style suppressor-side interface on a 1 3/8-24 HUB suppressor.
This lets a compatible HUB suppressor attach to supported SOCOM flash hiders, muzzle brakes and WARCOMPs.
SOCOM Can ≠ HUB Can
A native SureFire SOCOM RC2/RC3 does not have a standard HUB rear socket. The Fast-Attach HUB is for HUB suppressors that want to use SureFire muzzle devices.

SureFire + HUB Is Now a Two-Way Conversation
B&T's Rotex-SF can use specified SOCOM muzzle devices, and SureFire now sells its own Fast-Attach HUB adapters for HUB cans. That does not mean all suppressor bodies or locking mechanisms are interchangeable. Identify the suppressor-side adapter first.
Brand Name Alone Does Not Identify the Mount
SilencerCo, Rugged and HUXWRX each sell suppressors with more than one rear-interface architecture, while SureFire now supports both native SOCOM suppressors and HUB cans through a separate Fast-Attach HUB adapter. Identify the exact suppressor model before ordering any mounting part.

What the P-Series Interface Means
The Wolfman does not use the standard 1.375-24 HUB rear thread. It uses Dead Air's smaller P-Series interface. Choose P-Series-specific adapters or a verified aftermarket Wolfman / P-Series adapter.

Important Mojave Difference
The Mojave has a shorter blast chamber than the Wolfman. That matters when using aftermarket taper-mount muzzle devices: a muzzle device can have the correct thread and ecosystem but still be too long internally.

Why the Primal Is Different
The Primal starts as a standard HUB suppressor, but Dead Air includes the SD502 HUB-to-P-Series adapter. That adapter changes the rear socket from 1.375-24 HUB to 1.203-28 P-Series.

Two different mounting architectures now exist under the Sandman name: the HUB-based Sandman X and the integral-KeyMo K / S / L.
Sandman X
The Sandman X is a modern HUB 1.375-24 suppressor. Dead Air offers it in Xeno and KeyMo configurations, and the HUB rear interface makes other appropriate HUB systems possible.
Sandman K / S / L
The traditional Sandman K, S and L use an integral KeyMo rear mount. Their rear mounting system is not a removable HUB socket. Do not order a HUB Plan B, Plan A or Xeno adapter expecting to convert these cans.

Before ordering a barrel-side muzzle device, determine whether the suppressor uses P-Series, HUB, or an integral mount. Then verify the muzzle-device bore, barrel thread, cartridge rating, blast-chamber clearance and manufacturer instructions. A matching thread pitch by itself is never enough to establish suppressor fitment.
