Brand new or nervous?
You are welcome here. Ask about an introductory private lesson or First Steps Defensive Carry. Tell us if you have never handled or fired a firearm.
Returning after time away?
Ask about a private refresher or the Getting Comfortable package. Start with what you remember and what you want explained again.
Prefer individual attention?
Private instruction is tailored to your experience, questions, and pace. The instruction rate is $125 per hour.
Bringing a group?
Group training depends on the program, group size, and participants' experience. Some live-fire classes require basic safety knowledge.
Working toward a Texas License to Carry? Review the online class and shooting qualification separately. If you are new to firearms, ask about introductory instruction before choosing a qualification session.
What happens at a first private lesson?
- We talk about your starting point. Your experience, goals, questions, and comfort level help shape the session. You do not need to know the terminology.
- We review safety and the training environment. Your instructor explains expectations, equipment arrangements, and how to ask for help.
- Instruction follows your needs and readiness. Beginners start with an introduction. Any live-fire activity takes place with instructor supervision and follows the venue's rules.
- We review what you learned. Ask questions, discuss feedback, and identify a suitable next step.
Tell your instructor when you need another explanation, a break, or a slower pace. Honest questions help us teach.

Before you book: common questions
Do I need experience or my own firearm?
No previous experience is needed to ask about beginner instruction. Tell us if you need a firearm or ammunition arranged. Availability and any extra cost must be confirmed in advance; equipment is not automatically included in the hourly instruction rate.
How much does it cost, and how long is a lesson?
Private instruction is $125 per hour. Session length is arranged before booking based on your needs. Ask for the planned duration, any minimum booking, and the full price, including whether range fees, ammunition, protective equipment, or other equipment charges are separate. Group and package prices depend on the selected program.
Where do I go, and what should I bring?
Confirm the actual meeting location for your session before traveling. The shop address is not a substitute for your lesson's meeting instructions.
- Confirm the start time, duration, and venue.
- Ask what identification, enrollment paperwork, or waivers are required.
- Confirm what firearm and ammunition, if any, to bring and the quantity needed.
- Confirm eye and hearing protection, clothing, footwear, and any equipment available to borrow or rent.
- Follow the venue's directions for transporting and presenting equipment. Ask ahead if you are unsure.
How do I schedule if no dates are listed?
Contact us with your preferred dates, experience, goals, and equipment needs. For private appointments, ask us about scheduling even if no online sessions are listed. Availability must be confirmed directly. An inquiry does not reserve a date.
Can a child, friend, or observer attend?
Ask before booking. Age and guardian requirements depend on the selected program and venue. Tell us who will participate and whether anyone would attend only as an observer. A private one-on-one lesson and a group booking are different arrangements.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Confirm the terms for your selected session before paying, including any deposit, cancellation or no-show rules, and what happens if weather or the venue affects the lesson.
What if I am nervous or need an adjustment?
Tell us. You can request a private conversation about comfort, communication, accessibility, or assistance. You do not need to put medical details in an inquiry or experience assessment.
