A suppressor reduces muzzle sound and flash; it does not make a firearm silent. Confirm caliber rating, barrel-length restrictions, mounting, alignment and ammunition requirements with both manufacturers.

Start with 5.56 or 9mm. Both have deep ammunition support and broad platform choices.
Compare .300 Blackout. Evaluate supersonic and subsonic loads separately rather than treating them as interchangeable performance.
Compare 9mm and .45 ACP. Platform action, magazines and intended ammunition matter as much as bore size.
7.62×39 is the natural baseline. Magazine geometry, ammunition and host quality deserve special attention.
Consider 5.7×28. Recoil and ammunition weight are low, while price and platform selection remain more specialized.
Move to .308 only when the benefit justifies the size. Recoil, blast, ammunition weight and rifle weight all increase.
